Brant County OPP is seeking information from the public about a 2014 Audi A6 that was stolen during an online transaction meet-up near Newbrook Street in Paris, Ont.
Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, two people arrived at the seller’s house in a silver Hyundai 4-door sedan with dark tinted windows.
After inspecting the vehicle, one of the potential buyers requested a test drive but immediately drove off in the Audi and did not return.
The second person also left the area moments later in the Hyundai.
Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for the following vehicles:
2014 Audi A6 with Ontario license plate DEBM 892 (stolen vehicle)
Light silver Hyundai sedan with dark tinted windows (suspect vehicle)
The man who drove off in the Audi is described by police as between 25-30 years old, 5 ‘7, thin build, with short black hair, brown eyes and hairy hands.
He was last seen wearing a black crew neck sweater with ‘Tommy Hilfiger’ in bold white letters across the chest and white running shoes with a red stripe featuring the same lettering.
Police have not issued a description of the other person.
Anyone with information, surveillance footage, or dashcam video from the area is asked to contact Brant County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Police are also reminding the public to exercise caution when meeting with buyers and sellers for online transactions. To help ensure a safe exchange, the Brant County OPP detachment located at 67 Bethel Rd., Paris has Safe Trade Zones equipped with surveillance cameras.
