Brampton resident charged in 2023 fatal shooting in Hamilton
A 36-year-old Brampton resident has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting in Hamilton last year.
On Oct. 3, officials responded to reports of shots fired at 111 Herkimer St.
Once on scene, police discovered 36-year-old Tito Kelly of Hamilton suffering from gunshot wounds in an alley. He later died of his injuries in hospital.
Investigators believe the shooting was a result of a drug-related transaction, and both sides exchanged gunfire.
Initial findings also revealed a royal blue four-door sedan with a dark tint was seen speeding away from the scene.

Another victim, whose name has not been released, was also treated for a gunshot wound stemming from the same incident, and survived.
On Wednesday, officials confirmed they had arrested Donte Smith of Brampton.
Smith is facing a manslaughter charge and will remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
Officers say the investigation remains ongoing, as they believe at least two other parties were involved in the crime.
