Hamilton police have arrested a 46-year-old Brampton man in connection with a rash of door-bell style break-ins in an east Hamilton Mountain neighbourhood.
Detectives said one person was suspected of two recent break-ins in the area bounded by Mohawk and Limeridge roads, and Upper Ottawa and Upper Kenilworth streets.
They say eight other similar break-ins in the past four months were possibly carried out by the same person, which led to around $100,000 in goods being stolen.
Officers released doorbell videos of the suspect last week, asking the public to help identify a man with a medium build.
Investigators say they received information that led them to locate and arrest Jose De Guzman of Brampton, and confirmed with CHCH News that it was the man depicted in the doorbell videos.
Police say they were able to arrest De Guzman without incident, and charge him with two counts of break and enter to commit theft and two counts of failing to comply with probation.

Investigators say De Guzman was not known to Hamilton police at the time of his arrest.
Hamilton police told CHCH News that the media exposure greatly helped lead to De Guzman’s arrest.
Officers recovered property believed to be stolen and have released them to the public in an effort for their rightful owners to identify and reclaim them.
The investigation into these and other break and enter incidents remain ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
