Bloc Quebecois elects new leader

Former MP Daniel Paille is the new leader of the Bloc Quebecois.

Paille lost his seat in the last election, but beat out current MPs for the top job.

He now faces the daunting task of trying to bring back the party that was all but decimated in a a disastrous showing in last May’s federal election under longtime leader Gilles Duceppe.

More than a quarter or the party’s 53,000 members did not renew their membership this year.
