Blast of winter hits Hamilton region

The first full day of winter is bringing snow to Hamilton and the surrounding area.

Environment Canada has issued special weather statements as far east as Cornwall, Ont. all the way to Windsor, Ont.

Hamilton, Burlington and Niagara could see another two to four centimeters of snow and freezing drizzle is possible for the afternoon and night.

The City of Hamilton says plowing and de-icing is underway.
