Bizarre gun mishap lands man in hospital

A man is recovering in hospital after what Hamilton Police describe as a “freak accident”.

He was using an antique rifle when it had a mechanical failure, causing him serious head injuries.

It happened Tuesday night on Butter Road in Ancaster.
Police have not said exactly what happened but no bullets or pellets were discharged.
