Bill Kelly set to host ‘Countdown to Grey Cup’ podcast for Ticats

Local radio legend Bill Kelly will be lending his voice to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats this fall as the host of the new “Countdown to the Grey Cup” podcast.

The podcast will have Kelly “channelling his lifetime passion for the Tiger-Cats and the City of Hamilton” through interviews of the stars of past Grey Cups.

It kicks off with Canadian Football Hall of Fame quarterback Danny McManus, an episode that is available now.

Kelly is set to keep fans up to date with the latest news surrounding the 110th Grey Cup and its accompanying festival, while also joining in on more upcoming projects with the team for which details have yet to be released.

The beloved media star is a Hamilton native who led The Bill Kelly Show on AM900 CHML for 17 years before recently saying goodbye to the show.

This isn’t his first time working alongside the football team. Kelly served as the in-stadium announcer at Ivor Wynne Stadium for 13 seasons.

“As a lifelong fan of our Hamilton Tiger-Cats, I’m very excited to join the great team of experts on the Ticats Audio Network.” said Kelly. “We’ll talk to Tiger-Cat players and coaches past and present and tell the stories that have made the Tiger-Cats one of the most iconic teams of all time. Oskee Wee Wee!”
