Bike lanes open on Hamilton’s Cannon St

After months of construction, the two-way bike lanes on Hamilton’s Cannon St are open.

The lanes stretch along the south side of Cannon from Sherman Ave to Hess St. There are also separate traffic lights directing cyclists using the two-way lanes.

Work on the 3 kilometre route started in August, and includes planters as well as rubber curbing to separate cyclists from motorists. Cannon will now be a three-lane street instead of four, and with parking, at times it will be reduced to only two lanes.
