Baby delivered in car

A Lowbanks couple has a new baby to welcome into their family, but the way baby Mazlynn came in to the world is a story they’ll likely never get tired of telling. The father pulled over on the side of the road and with the help of a 911 dispatcher, the couple gave birth right there and then in the passenger seat of their car.

Mazlynn Quinn Flatt was in a hurry to come into this world early Thursday morning during the 35 minute drive from Lowbanks to Grimsby. Tom Flatt called 911 when his wife started to go into labour in the car, and the EMS dispatcher calmly instructed him on what to do. It only took minutes before Mazlynn arrived in the front seat of Tom’s new Sonata.

This isn’t the first time the Flatt’s have had to deliver their own child. Tom delivered his son Tommy at home almost 6 years ago, as the midwife couldn’t come right away.

The couple has 5 children now, 2 girls and 3 boys.
