A 20-year old Port Colborne man was killed instantly last night after the all-terrain vehicle he was riding slammed into a hydro pole. It was the second, life-threatening off-roading vehicle crash in Niagara this weekend.

Riley Montgomery and a friend on a dirt bike were riding down Berkely Avenue in Port Colborne when Riley’s ATV veered and crashed into a hydro pole.

Josh Roussel heard it happen and ran down the street, there was nothing he could do, the impact was so severe, Riley was killed instantly. Friends say Riley had just gotten the ATV and police say speed was a factor. So far the OPP alone have investigated 9 off road fatalities, 5 of them involved speed.

Saturday afternoon in Niagara-on-the-Lake, popular Seaway farms owner Vince Pillitteri was critically injured when the Gator he was driving hit the back of a parked farm vehicle. Vince is still in intensive care unit in Hamilton with multiple broken bones.
