At least 16 dead, 40 injured in Australia’s biggest mass shooting since ’96

At least 16 people are dead, and more than 40 injured in what is now the biggest mass shooting to hit Australia since the Port Arthur massacre in 1996.

Investigators believe there were two gunmen, one suspect was killed by police, the other is now in custody.

All of this unfolding during a Jewish holiday event at one of the busiest beaches in Sydney.

Police say this was an act of terrorism, targeting Jewish people.

The event at the beach was set to mark the first day of Hanukkah.

Over a thousand people were in attendance and we’re learning more about the victims, which include a 10-year-old girl.
