Arson unit investigates ‘suspicious’ fire at Hamilton Mountain business

Hamilton police’s arson unit is investigating a fire in a commercial property on the Mountain Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the call around 7 a.m. at Crockett St. between East 33rd and East 34th streets.
The forensic unit taped off the commercial building to investigate the incident.
Police believe someone broke into the business as the glass front door was shattered.
Investigators have now deemed the fire as suspicious.

The business owner told CHCH News that he isn’t sure what happened.
Police initially called the Ontario Fire Marshal, but they are no longer involved. The arson unit has now taken over the case.
Anyone with surveillance footage or information regarding this fire is asked to contact police.
