Arrest made in Qian Liu homicide

Late Wednesday afternoon, Toronto Police announced an arrest in the murder of a Chinese York University student.

Brian Dickson, 29, of Toronto was taken into custody and is charged with first degree murder.

Qian Liu was talking to her boyfriend in China through her laptop computer’s camera early Friday morning when someone knocked on her door.
Her boyfriend says he watched her let a man in, and she seemed to know him. The man asked to borrow her cell phone and tried to hug her. She resisted and said no. A struggle ensued – shortly after, the laptop was closed.
Qian Liu’s body was found later that morning naked from the waist down.
