Arrest in cabbie attack

(Video updated) Hamilton Police have made an arrest in last week’s vicious attack on a cab driver.
Zacharia Ristic, 19, is been charged with aggravated assault and robbery.
A man with the same name played hockey on a local men’s C team. He was suspended for 12 games this past season after a fight, three game misconduct penalties and 2 gross misconduct penalties.
Muhammad Sajid, 55, remains in hospital with multiple injuries. He has a fractured femur, a bruised elbow, and a dislocated shoulder. Friends say he’s also had memory loss since the attack.
A week ago today, Sajid picked up three customers and drove them to a housing complex on Limeridge road. That’s where Sajid was beaten and money was taken from him. Police say they’ve determined that just one of Sajad’s three customers was responsible for the attack.
Ristic is being held for a bail hearing.
