Arkells and the city of Hamilton unveil a new basketball court

Arkells and the city of Hamilton unveiled a new basketball court in North Hamilton today.
Woodlands Park is now home to the new and improved The Rally Court, a multi-coloured, Arkells-inspired outdoor hardcourt with top-end nets.
Arkells frontman Max Kerman says in the only outdoor court in the city that has these nets, “the most worthy thing for a basketball player is to have a professional net and that’s what we have here.”
Kerman says since January the group and city hall hatched up the idea of refurbishing a basketball court after being inspired by other outdoor courts in major cities.
Ward 3 Councillor Nrinder Nann suggested Woodlands Park as the spot for the $80,000 charitable investment. “A perfect investment that helps young people tap into their own purpose, worthiness, they deserve to have beautiful courts to play on,” Nann said.
Councillor Nann mentions no tax levy dollars were used towards the creation of this court and the contributions to create this court came from the Foxcroft family, Canada Basketball, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse Foundation, Superfan Nav Bhatia, and of course Arkells.
Nann also tells CHCH News that more work will be done and concrete will be laid under the bleachers to make them permanent.
