Arena study

[projekktor id=’21385′]
What do you do with an aging hockey rink that’s too old for the NHL and too big for the OHL? You give a local consultant a chunk of cash to figure it out.
Jasper Kujavsky is a Hamilton lawyer and consultant, he’s also behind an initiative to see what can be done with First Ontario Centre. Kujavsky asked for and was given a $50 000 untendered contract, to study the building. He says he raised another $100 000 from unnamed private sector sources and has hired an architect to assess the structure.
It may be part of the study but Kujavsky denies any effort to attract an NHL team. “This isn’t about the NHL this is about having an economic development plan for a sports entertainment and hospitality precinct in the down town core.”
