Another Caledonia fire

Firefighters responded to a two alarm blaze earlier this evening in Caledonia. The fire broke out at a home on Iona court, which is in a residential area just south of the Grand River.

Firefighters responded to the call shortly after 4 pm and found a fully involved structure fire. They say it began in the garage and spread to the home. There were two people and a dog inside at the time of the fire, but they were able to get out safely.

This is one of a number of recent fires in Caledonia, but officials say there is no concern to the public as there aren’t any links between the fires.

The two vehicles inside the garage were completely destroyed, the total damage of the fire is estimated at between $300 000- $350 000.
