Annual Terry Fox Run

Hundreds laced up for the annual Terry Fox run in Oakville this morning. Runners were doing their part to keep the legacy of Terry Fox alive and well at Coronation Park. Residents also posted tributes to loved ones who lost their battle against cancer. Today’s run was a special one, as it marked the 35th anniversary of Fox’s “Marathon of Hope.” He started his marathon in 1980 by running across Canada in support of cancer research. His run was cut short, but since the first run, the Terry Fox Foundation has raised more than 650 million dollars worldwide.
