Ancaster reaching out this Christmas

Ancaster is reaching out to those in need this Christmas.

Workers from the Ancaster Community Services outreach program are sorting toys and other items today, all of which will be given to Ancaster families in need this holiday season. The organization’s Christmas Hamper Program has been around for about ten years. This year, it hopes to help sixty families and one hundred seniors.

Donations of toys and imperishable foods have been pouring in, but outreach worker Alethea Ouzas says more is still needed.

“One thing that I say to individuals that want to donate is if there is something that your family needs, chances are another family needs it as well.”

Starting tomorrow, volunteers will be at the former Ancaster town hall to make up Christmas baskets. you can find more information on how to donate at the Ancaster Community Services website.
