Ancaster Avalanche arrive

The Ancaster Avalanche junior hockey club was officially launched Wednesday night at a news conference at the Morgan Firestone Arena.

Team owner Ron Van Kleef is relocating his Stoney Creek Warriors of the Golden Horseshoe Junior B League, the Golden Horseshoe Conference. Ryan Kuwabara, well known in the local hockey circles, and head coach of the Warriors, will assume the same duties with the Avalanche.

The team will play its home games on Thursdays and Saturdays. The schedule will be announced in August.
