Ambassador Bridge reopens to U.S.-bound traffic

The Ambassador Bridge border crossing between Windsor and Detroit has reopened to U.S.-bound traffic, but traffic is still congested along Huron Church Road.
An anti-vaccine mandate demonstration blocked traffic in both directions Monday.
Ontario Provincial Police told drivers to avoid the area yesterday in a release and to take the Bluewater Bridge in Sarnia if traveling to the U.S.
Windsor police said more than 100 protesters remained on the scene until early Tuesday morning. No arrests were made.
Premier Doug Ford Tweeted about the protest today:
The Ambassador Bridge is a vital trade artery between Canada and the U.S. Many essential workers, including frontline health care workers, rely on it to get to work. Police are on the scene to ensure traffic is moving safely.

The demonstration is over COVID-19 vaccine mandates for cross-border truck drivers and other public health measures.
