Bikes were out in full force in Hamilton yesterday, hoping to encourage more people to switch up their commute.

Amazon employees from Hamilton and Brampton took part in a “Bike Day” as part of the company’s donation to Hamilton Bike Share. Local staff rode from Bayfront Park to city hall

The company gave $63,000 to the program, which has more than 800 smart-bikes across the city.

“To have Amazon, our newest and one of our greatest corporate sponsors come forward and say, ‘we want to support Bike Share,” is a real blessing indeed and these resources will certainly be used to promote bike share in our community,” said Hamilton mayor Fred Eisenberger.

In 2020, Hamilton Bike Share had around 26,000 members.
