There are even more allegations of sexual harassment at Parliament Hill.

A former intern alleges she was sexually harassed while working in the office of an unnamed Liberal MP. The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, says her supervisor touched her inappropriately and had her do degrading jobs like washing dishes. She also claims the man told her “Parliament was not a place for women.” The woman says the experience ruined a decade of her life and led to two suicide attempts. Canada’s Minister of Status of Women, Dr. Kellie Leitch, commented on the allegations today.

“If you are a young person or an older person, the best thing you can do if you experience harassment.  If you are concerned if have experienced physical violence please step forward we need to know.”

The former intern claims she was fired from her job shortly after she brought the matter to her MP’s attention. The woman, who was 22-years old at the time, says there’s a culture of sexual harassment on Parliament Hill.
