Canadian artist Alex Colville has died at his home in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.
He began his career as a military artist and documented troops landing at Juno beach on D-day. Colville later earned a reputation for creating tranquil paintings that focused on everyday life.
His work reached millions of canadians through art galleries, magazines, book covers, postcards and posters. His “Horse and Train,” featured on a Bruce Cockburn album cover, hangs at the Art Gallery of Hamilton.
Alex Colville was 92 years old.
