The Alert Ready system is set to be tested Wednesday at 12:55 p.m. across the country.

The federal government will be testing the nation’s capacity to issue emergency alerts around Ontario.

Most provinces and territories will receive a test alert on their cell phones, as well as through TV and radio broadcasts.

The test is meant to ensure members of the public can receive important alerts in an emergency.
