Adidas ends partnership with Kanye West over antisemitic remarks

Adidas has ended its partnership with Kanye West.
The rapper, who has changed his name to Ye, created a firestorm earlier this month when he made several antisemitic comments on a podcast.
In a statement, the German sportswear said, “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.”
Earlier this month, Adidas said it was placing its lucrative sneaker deal with the rapper under review as they faced pressure to cut ties with him from celebrities and social media.
The sportswear company said it was expected to take a hit of up to 250 million euros to its net income this year from the move.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the Balenciaga fashion house cut ties with Ye last week. Ye has also recently ended his company’s ties to Gap.
