94-year-old dies in collision on Dundas St. in Burlington
A 94-year-old Burlington resident has died as a result of a car collision Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Dundas Street and Walkers Line in Burlington.
The crash occurred just after 3 p.m.
A red Jeep Wrangler was travelling eastbound on Dundas Street when it collided with a grey Ford Focus that was heading westbound and turning left from Dundas Street onto Walkers Line.
The elderly passenger of the Ford Focus was transported to an out-of-region trauma centre and later died as a result of injuries.
Walkers Line was closed near the intersection and Dundas Street was down to one lane for a number of hours. Motorists were forced to take alternate routes.
The intersection re-opened around 8 p.m.
Any witnesses to the collision who have not spoken to police are requested to contact investigators at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
CORRECTION: CHCH initially reported that the person who died was a man. Halton Police has not yet confirmed the gender of the deceased.
