After almost two full days a Hamilton man has been found safe and sound. 71-year-old Roger Bissonette went missing Friday night but was found just around the corner from his home on Sunday.

Bissonette was last seen Friday night when he left his home on Armstrong Avenue to go for a walk. He is nonverbal and suffers from early onset dementia, but his family says he’s an avid walker and is in good physical health otherwise. This morning Hamilton police set up a command centre in the east end of Hamilton where he went missing.

Bissonette was found under a bridge near the Red Hill Valley Parkway and Queenston Road around 12 p.m. on Sunday.

Bissonette’s family say he is recovering at Juravinski hospital and is expected to return home Sunday evening.
