70-year-old seriously injured after being struck by truck in Milton
One person is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision involving a pedestrian in Milton Thursday morning.
Halton police said in a post on X around 8:45 a.m. that the incident happened near Thompson Road and Maple Avenue.
According to officials, a 51-year-old was driving a pick-up and making a left turn when they struck a 70-year-old crossing the street.
Paramedics transported the victim to hospital with serious injuries.

Thompson Road was closed in both directions from Steeles to Woodward avenues, as well as Maple Avenue between Fleming Drive and Hemlock Drive. Both intersections reopened shortly after 11 a.m.
There is no word yet if any charges will be laid.
Halton police’s collision reconstruction unit is now investigating, and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officials are asked to come forward.
