67-year-old woman found dead inside Welland home

Niagara Regional Police Service is investigating after a woman was found dead inside a Welland home.

Officers were called to a residence in the area of Michael Dr. and Woodlawn Rd. around 12:15 p.m. Monday.

Emergency crews found the body of a 67-year-old woman inside the home. Police say her identity is not being released at this time.

Officers arrested a person at the scene but they have since been released from custody unconditionally.

Police remain on scene while detectives from the homicide unit investigate the incident.
