51-year-old man charged in sexual assault of a young Burlington boy

Halton police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the sexual assault of a young boy in Burlington last Thursday.

Officers say that the incident happened around 8:25 p.m. last Thursday when the suspect allegedly sexually assaulted the victim in a car in the parking lot of a plaza in the area of Guelph Line and Upper Middle Rd. in Burlington.

Police say that the victim and suspect are known to one another.

On Friday 51-year-old Rico Salvador Roman of Burlington was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Roman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Investigators believe that their may be more victims of Roman and ask anyone who may have been victimized or who has any information contact the Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.
