Hamilton police have charges a 51-year-old woman with carless driving causing death.

On February 5, shortly after 3:00 p.m., a 70-year-old Hamilton man was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Upper James Street, south of Fennell Avenue East. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, while the driver was cooperative and remained on scene.

On February 20, the man succumbed to his injuries, marking the city’s third traffic fatality of 2022.

The 51-year-old woman has a court date set for August 22, 2022.
