Eastbound 401 reopened at Guelph Line after crash

The eastbound 401 at Guelph Line reopened just after 7:30am  after a crash had closed highway 401 in both directions at Guelph Line.

A dump truck hit the Guelph Line overpass overnight causing significant damage.

Guelph Line is closed in both directions while emergency crews inspect the damage to the bridge.

There is still a backup eastbound but some drivers saved time by getting off at Hwy. 6 south and taking Campbellville Road east to Guelph Line and then North to the 401.

Westbound drivers will have to get off at Guelph Line but can get back on the 401 past the bridge.
