36-year-old man is dead after an industrial incident in Stoney Creek

A 36-year-old man died after an industrial incident in Stoney Creek on Tuesday morning.

Paramedics and police were called to Janco Steel around 10:30 AM. The company is located on Arvin Avenue, between North Service and Glover Roads in Stoney Creek.

First responders performed what they call an ‘industrial rescue’ on the 36-year-old man.  Paramedics tell CHCH News that the man did not have vital signs and they began trying to resuscitate him on the way to the hospital. He was pronounced dead.

The Ministry of Labour says the worker was injured by industrial material.

The company that specializes in flat-rolled steel products did not want to comment on the tragedy today.

Hamilton Police will be assisting the Ministry of Labour with its investigation into the death.
