3 women dead after shooting rampage in small Ontario community

3 women are dead and a 57 year old man has been arrested after a fatal shooting in a small Ontario community a little more than 2 hours north-east of Perterborough. The arrest comes after a long and stressful day for those living in the area as many schools and businesses were placed on lock down, while police searched for a man with a gun.

Reports are identifying the suspect as Basil Borutski, he was arrested around 2:30 this afternoon by police in Ottawa. Borutski was found in the community of Kinburn, in the western part of the city, which is 130 kms away from the scene of the shootings.

2 of the victims were found dead in Wilno which is about 200 kms north-east of Peterborough.
