3-vehicle crash in Wainfleet sends at least 2 people to hospital

Multiple people have been taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Wainfleet Tuesday afternoon.

A person at the scene said it happened on Forks Road, between Mill Race and Gents Road, just before 4:30 p.m.

Two pick-up trucks ended up in a ditch, and a third stayed on the road.

Two people were taken to an out-of-town hospital in an air ambulance.

Niagara police say their injuries were at first considered life threatening, but they are both now in stable condition.

Const. Rich Hingley with Niagara Regional Police told CHCH News that he is unaware of the extent of any other injured parties, if any.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, with no arrests or charges having been laid at this point.

Roads reopened just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
