3 dead and 1 injured after shooting at University of Nevada-Las Vegas

Three people are dead and another one is injured after gunfire erupted on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas campus Wednesday.
According to authorities, the suspect was a 67-year-old former college professor who was recently denied a job at the university.
He was killed during a standoff with police after reportedly going from room to room in the school.
This marks the 80th school shooting in the U.S. this year, and it comes less than 48 hours after another deadly gun rampage in the San Antonio, Texas area.

In response to both shootings, President Joe Biden issued a statement calling on congress to pass a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
The UNLV campus is located a few miles away from the scene of the 2017 mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival, where 58 people were killed and hundreds of others were wounded.
