York police say they have seized $3.5 million worth of psychedelic drugs and charged 15 people after raiding a chain of FunGuyz Magic Mushroom stores across Ontario.
Two men are still wanted by police in connection to the raids.
After receiving complaints from the community, officers launched an investigation into the illegal franchise.
The Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement unit executed 29 search warrants at stores across the province – resulting in the seizure of 181 kilograms of dried psilocybin, 137 grams of edible psilocybin, 179 grams of DMT, 541 grams of illegal cannabis and more than $450,000 in cash.
Police have laid over 78 charges against the following people:
Investigators have issued warrants for Samer Akila, 32, of London and Mizda Karim, 38, of Toronto.
Police say they believe Karim is in the United Kingdom, and Akila may be in Egypt.
