A 24-year-old cyclist has died following a serious collision in Milton that happened July 4.

Police say that the crash took place around 11:20 p.m. on James Snow Parkway near Main Street East. Their investigation revealed a Toyota RAV4 struck the cyclist while travelling southbound on the parkway.

Emergency crews rushed a 24-year-old man to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota, a 71-year-old man, was not injured. He remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

No word yet on whether charges have been laid.

Officers say their investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information or dash cam footage are asked to contact police at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065.
