2014 Cannes Film Festival Wrap-Up

As the 2014 edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival (Festival de Cannes) calls it a year, we bid adieu to another ceremony filled with emotion and say au revoir to Gilles Jacob who is stepping down as president of the festival. In typical Cannes fashion, the 11-day event was a mixed stew of films ranging from the highly-praised Foxcatcher, an off-beat drama starring Steve Carell and Channing Tatum to Ryan Gosling’s “Lost River” which was showered with antipathy and even booed. The festival, founded in 1946, ran from May 14th to May 25th and featured 18 films in competition, 20 films in Un Certain Regard, and 9 in the short film category.
