2 teens charged after Niagara police seize $40K in drugs

Niagara police have charged two teenagers after seizing $40,000 worth of illegal drugs and two handguns.
Officers opened an investigation in May into the distribution of illicit drugs throughout St. Catharines and Thorold.
On Tuesday, detectives pulled over the suspect’s vehicle on Burdette Dr. near Pettit Ave. in Niagara Falls and found a loaded Smith and Wesson handgun, a loaded Glock 45 handgun, cocaine and fentanyl.
Police then executed a search warrant at a hotel in Niagara Falls near Stanley Ave. and Robinson St., where they seized $40,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl.
Nineteen-year-old Joshua Clottey and Thshane Edwards of Brampton were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including two counts of carrying a concealed weapon.
Both are in custody and being held at the Niagara Detention Centre.
