Brantford police have charged two 32-year-old men with several weapons-related offences after one of them was seen with a gun at a local nightclub.

Police responded to calls of a man with a gun at the nightclub on Market Street early Sunday morning.

The man was reported to have shown a gun while in the club and left in a vehicle.

Officers say they found the vehicle near the intersection of Dalhousie Street and Brant Avenue while they were conducting a traffic stop.

Police then arrested three men, one driver and two passengers. They say the driver was released after he was found to not have involvement in the incident.

Investigators searched the vehicle and seized three loaded guns, one of which was illegally modified. They say one of the guns was capable of carrying over 30 rounds of ammunition.

The two men are facing several charges, including unauthorized possession of a weapon and occupation of a motor vehicle knowing there was a weapon.

Police say the men were held for a bail hearing.
