Hamilton police have charged three people following the armed robbery of a business Sunday night near Barton Street East and Hughson Street North.

Officers were dispatched to a business in the area at around 10 p.m., following reports of a robbery.

Employees at the business told police that three suspects had entered the store and demanded money from them.

They say at least one of the suspects had a firearm. After taking cash and merchandise, the three left the scene in a red pickup truck.

Police were able to find the truck within a few minutes, and safely arrested the three suspects.

Investigators say they recovered the money, products and an airsoft gun.

Officers have charged a 16-year-old boy from Hamilton and a 28-year-old man from Burlington with robbery, disguising with intent, and possessing property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Police also charged a 19-year-old man from Hamilton with the same offences, in addition to breaching youth probation, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and for using an imitation firearm during the commission of offence.
