2 LTC homes fined by Ontario for not providing air conditioning

Two Ontario long-term care homes have been fined for not providing air conditioning in resident rooms.
Vision Nursing Home in Sarnia and McCormick Home in London were both given $1,100 fines.
Legislation passed last year requires homes to install air conditioning is all resident rooms by June 22.
The government says Vision Nursing Home has refused to install air conditioning and has no plans in place to do so.
McCormick Home is debating the definition of air conditioning and is not publicly reporting room temperatures.
As of yesterday, only 554 out of 627 homes in the province had complied with the law.
