2 Hamilton men arrested after firearm, drugs seized during traffic stop

Two men from Hamilton are facing a slew of charges following an overnight traffic stop in the city.

Officers pulled a vehicle over shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday in the area of Cannon St. East and Sherman St. North.

Hamilton police say a firearm and illicit drugs were seized.

A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were arrested and charged with numerous drug-related and firearm offences.

“Hamilton Police continue to relentlessly pursue offenders who are engaged in violence, drug activity and firearms in our community,” said Hamilton police in a news release. “We are working to end gun violence and illegal gun possession. The majority of gun crimes being committed in Hamilton involve guns that were illegally obtained and possessed.”
