19-year-old Brantford man charged following weapons disturbance

Brantford police have arrested a 19-year-old man after he brandished a weapon during a disturbance with another individual.

On April 15 at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers responded to reports of a disturbance between two individuals in the area of Oxford Street and King George Road.

Authorities were told that the man pulled out a weapon during the dispute before fleeing the area in a motor vehicle.

The man’s vehicle was quickly located — police performed a high-risk traffic stop in the area of St. Paul and Brant avenues. The man was taken into custody at the scene.

As a result, a 19-year-old Brantford man stands charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code.
