Hamilton school bus driver charged with abduction

A 70-year-old bus driver from Hamilton has been charged with abduction in relation to four alleged incidents involving a 14 year old developmentally delayed teenage girl.
Hamilton police launched an investigation on October 24 and on November 22, members of the Child Abuse Unit arrested and charged David Nauss with four counts of abduction of a person under sixteen years of age. The four abductions happened on four different days last month. Police say each time the victim was driven home on the bus, but not within the allotted time frame.
Police say Nauss was a school bus driver employed by Attridge Transportation at the time of the alleged incidents which happened in late October and also worked as a volunteer bus driver for City Kidz and performed home visits for the organization during the time he was employed by the bus company.
It was a concerned citizen that noticed inappropriate behaviour between the bus driver and the girl that tipped off police. Hamilton police would not comment on what this concerned citizen saw happening between the bus driver and the girl or the intent of these abductions. Police say they have no reason to believe the girl was sexually assaulted or physically hurt.
He is currently in custody and will appear in court for a bail hearing. Both City Kidz and Attridge say prior to this, they never had any complaints about Nauss.
