15-year-old girl arrested following assault of teenage girl at Port Dalhousie park

Niagara police have arrested a 15-year-old girl involved in the assault of a 17-year-old girl at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie.

According to officers, witnesses reported seeing a group of teenage girls attacking another girl near the snack shack located in the park just before 8 p.m. June 12.

Once on scene, authorities found a 17-year-old girl suffering from injuries to her head and face that she sustained during the attack.

Investigators were able to identify one of the suspects as a 15-year-old girl who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Due to recent reports of disturbances at the same beach, officers have increased their presence in the area.
