14-year-old Hamilton girl in hospital after hit-and-run

Hamilton police say a 14-year-old girl was struck on Parkdale Avenue North at the intersection of Roxborough Avenue.

On Saturday, April 30, shortly before 5:30 p.m., police say the 14-year-old was walking with a group of friends when the driver of a 2005 Nissan Quest struck her.

She sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital.

Police say the driver failed to stop after the collision and fled the area, but was later found and arrested.

A 30-year-old Hamilton woman has been charged with Fail to Remain Causing Bodily Harm.

The intersection was closed for around six hours for the investigation.
