12th Annual Mark Graham Memorial Track Meet

Some of Hamilton’s brightest track stars took part in a meet dedicated to one of the city’s brightest athletes ever.
Up to 1,500 high school track athletes from 40 local schools put their talents to the test for the 12th Annual Mark Graham Memorial Track Meet.
At the event, the 400m is the main attraction where some of the Hamilton’s best are invited to compete against each other.
Mark Graham was a superstar track athlete for Sir Allen Macnab in the ’90s, he dominated in the 400 metre race. Graham represented Canada at the ’92 Summer Olympics when he was only in grade 12.
After Graham’s collegiate career at Nebraska and Penn State, Graham joined the Canadian Armed Forces. While on tour in Afghanistan he was killed at the age of 33.
While Graham’s former coach and parents weren’t able to attend the event, his contributions were not forgotten.
